Fundamental details

For in-depth analysis of the financial metrics, open the Fundamental details.

Tip: If you know the name of a metric, you can search it by typing its name (top left of bottom panel). Uncle will hint a list of matching metrics.

Another way is to look-up a metric by navigating the metrics tree view. The tree organizes the metrics in following groups:

  • Key metrics: brief overview of the main metrics of the financial results and some ratios.
  • Scores: overview of some well-known scores, as well as some specific Uncle scores.
  • Valuation ratios (Yield): ratios measuring income return on investment (price).
  • Valuation ratios (Assets): ratios measuring price to underlying value.
  • Efficiency ratios: ratios measuring the efficiency and profitability of the company. Stock price does not count.
  • Liquidity ratios: ratios measuring whether the company has enough current assets to pay its current liabilities. Stock price does not count.
  • Solvency ratios: ratios measuring whether the company has enough assets to pay its liabilities. Stock price does not count.
  • Value: Market Cap, Enterprise Value and Intrinsic Value.
  • Shares: Outstanding shares.
  • Balance sheet: as reported as part of the financial results
  • Income: as reported as part of the financial results
  • Cash flow: as reported as part of the financial results

Selecting a metric will show:

  • the dependent metrics as child elements in the tree. That way, it's possible to start from the scores, and drill down to the 'lower level' metrics.
  • a graph illustrating some key metrics of the group where the metric belongs to.
  • The historical metric values at the right.

Tip: Hover mouse over the metric value to get an explanation of how it's calculated.

Uncle provides two time perspectives:

  • Long-term: yearly history of the metric, past and future expectation. The column header is the fiscal year. However, if the fiscal year ends first quarter of calenderYear, the results are classified under calenderYear-1. This is because most of the results are in that case produced in calenderYear-1, which improves comparison between stocks and backtesting.
  • Short-term: Trailing (past 4 quarters), Rolling (past 2 quarters and future 2 quarters expectations) and Forward (future 4 quarters expectation). (not relevant for all metrics)

For an overview of the different submetrics, look here.

Tip: Mouse hover the metric or dimension label for its definition.

At the bottom of the table, Uncle shows:

  • other metrics where the metrics is depending upon.
  • other metrics that use the metrics.
  • other related metrics.

Tip: Click on "<" in the table header to get previous years.

Tip: Click on a metric (value) to navigate to its details and use back ("<") to go back.
